How to Disappear

Sky tilts on night’s scaffold,

remembers itself in the glint

of sea. Lie back and let

the silicate soak what seeps

from you, flesh spreading

like a thumb-torn peach.

You think moonlight

and it washes you, think

dissipate

and the body is gone,

cavity in the beachhead

slowly filling with salt.
